What does the adoption fee cover?
The adoption fee covers the vetting (spay/neuter, deworming, rabies vaccine (if 12 weeks old), age-appropriate FVRCP vaccines, microchip, flea prevention) and care costs (food, litter, supplies) for each kitten.
Although we do charge an adoption fee, all proceeds go directly to covering veterinary and supply costs. Without it, we wouldn't be able to help the many kittens we take in.

What veterinary care will be needed after adoption?
Along with spaying/neutering and a microchip, Alley Cat rescue provides a 1 year rabies vaccine (if 12 weeks old), age-appropriate FVRCP vaccines, and dewormings while in our care. After adoption, they may require FVRCP boosters, the FIV/FeLV test/vaccine, and flea/tick and heartworm prevention. They will also require a rabies vaccine if they are too young to receive one while at Alley Cat Rescue. Please consult your veterinarian for a more detailed layout of kitten vaccines.
